Attic Treatments & Dead Animal Removal

In addition to all the live animal removal and prevention, A-Team Trappers also specializes in dead animal removal. Whether you have a dead animal down a wall void, in your attic, or underneath your cabinets, the smell that follows can be extremely pungent, embarrassing and bothersome. Aside from that, complete decomposition can take weeks and if the animal is not removed immediately there are multiple health risks involved. Decomposition can attract ectoparasites such as flies, ticks, mites and fleas which can carry Hantavirus and other diseases. A-Team trappers will come to your Pinellas or Tampa Bay area residence or business, fully equipped with all the tools and knowledge to remove this unwanted decomposing pest. We also treat the area with an antimicrobial disinfectant, as well as a deodorizing agent to help eliminate the smell and remove any health risks involved.

Our Dead Animal Removal Process Includes a Full Inspection of the Premises Inside and Out.

This process will help us better understand how the animal got into the residence in the first place so we can take the necessary precautions to ensure it doesn’t happen again. If you suspect that you might have a dead animal in your home or business, chances are they are not alone – leading to a potential infestation.

Attic Treatments are extremely important when it comes to any type of animal contamination , and is imperative for preventing animal activity from coming back. Whether you have a rodent or a large animal in your attic, the first thing that they do is mark their territory with feces and urine. All animal feces (especially in any living or work place) can pose a serious threat to your health, as well as pets and family members. Beyond the health factors the feces also contain pheromones that help attract still more animals. A-Team Trappers in St. Petersburg, Florida uses a 3 step process to take care of this problem by disinfecting the entire attic, vacuuming out feces in any high activity areas and also deodorizing with a pheromone neutralizing agent which guarantees any animal scent is removed.

Attic restorations are necessary in some situations due to the level of contamination and the extenuating circumstances that go along with animals taking up residence in your home. The first step in the process is using an antimicrobial scrub in the attic to sterilize the area before removing the old insulation. After we remove all the old insulation from the attic we treat the bare attic floor and walls to prevent any toxic contaminates from the residual effects left behind by the animals. We then blow in all new boro cellulose insulation to a R30 level. This new insulation has pesticide properties to keep out unwanted guest such as roaches, fleas, and even termites. Boro Cellulose insulation has rodent deterrent as part of its makeup and is fire retardant. After we are done blowing in all the new insulations we treat the top level with a pheromone inhibitor so that we will not have any new animals ever. We guarantee it for life!

Exclusion

Animals can gain access to your attic or home in a variety of ways depending upon many situations. Raccoons might tear your soffit down, and a opossums is more likely to push through a roof return. A rodent on the other hand will gnaw through a pipe stack or find access through your AC chase causing damage to your air conditioner. A-Team Trappers has the experience, knowledge and tools to eliminate any and all entry points to ensure these furry intruders don’t gain access inside your home or business again.

A full exclusion consists of closing up all of the possible entry points to your home or business to ensure that no more animals are able to reenter in any way, shape or form. A-Team Trappers utilize all metal base products to eliminate entry points unlike some of our competitors that might use foam. It is a fact that using foam is not going to be a permanent fix because in just a matter of time before rodents will be sure to gnaw through it and in some cases even use it as nesting material. Our process and techniques on the other hand are proven and unable to be compromised by any animals or weather. Within the first visit to your home or business our wildlife specialist will be able to explain exactly how these intruders are currently entering and what areas could be vulnerable in the future. Our main objective is to make sure that we keep these animals at bay and out of your residence while doing our best to make things as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Exclusions should be accomplished by a professional who has the knowledge and experience to do it right the first time. All of our exclusions come with their own guarantees so call A-Team Trappers today for a home inspection and the best results.

Rodents

The Tampa Bay area has been fighting off rodents since before it was founded in 1823, but technological equipment has been created over time allowing us to better control rats and mice in residential and commercial properties. These advances, coupled with A-Team Trapper’s vast experience (and our own custom designed tactics), can control and prevent your wildlife issues.

We understand that rats are very scent driven animals, and once in an attic they will instantly leave a “scent trail,” which attract even more rats.

Our pheromone control and treatment plan is completed in a 3 step process.

  1. Fog entire attic with an antimicrobial scrub to eliminate the risk of toxic airborne pathogens.
  2. Remove feces by vacuuming the high activity areas.
  3. Remove residual pheromones to better guarantee that the attraction to other rodents is eliminated.

The pheromone and bacterial removal is crucial for future prevention of an infestation. The feces and urine of the rodents are no joking matter because they can be toxic and harmful to children, adults, and pets. These health hazards can include all of the following:

  • Eosinophilic Meningitis
  • Ratbite fever (RBF)
  • Leptospirosis
  • Bubonic Plague
  • Murine Typhus
  • Salmonella enterica serovar
  • Typhimurium
  • Hantavirus Pulmonary
  • Syndrome (HPS)

RACCOONS

Do you need raccoon removal? If you answer yes to any of the following questions, chances are the answer is yes. Have you recently heard scratching in your attic? Have your trash cans been opened and trash bags been ripped apart? Have you seen feces and urine in parts of your attic? These are all signs of a raccoon infestation and major reasons why you should contact the technicians at A-Team Trappers immediately.

MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT RACOONS

The perception through TV and children’s book are that raccoons are cute, friendly creatures. This is not particularly true. Raccoons are territorial by nature and may not take kindly to having its home in your attic disrupted. Raccoons are also carriers of diseases such as leptospirosis and histoplasmosis. That’s why it’s critical to contact a company, like A-Team Trappers, to handle your raccoon removal.

SQUIRRELS

Florida is home to three types of squirrel species: the eastern gray squirrel, the fox squirrel, and the southern flying squirrel. Squirrels are important to our ecological system. Their natural digging and burying habits aid in reforestations, they provide insect control, and other animals benefit from the tunnels they dig. Squirrels may be vital to nature, but their presence in residential homes or commercial buildings add no benefit—only headaches. If squirrels are inhabiting your personal living or business space, call A-Team Trappers for a guaranteed solution for your squirrel problem.

HOW DID SQUIRRELS GET INTO MY HOME?

It is common to spot squirrels near homes and places of business. Squirrels easily find their way into attics, soffits, chimneys, and eaves during winter months when they are seeking a warm place to build a nest. Eventually, the squirrels will begin to damage these areas. Although squirrels are not aggressive, they will destroy yards by digging and burying nuts, chewing trees, and other greenery. They damage home interior by chewing on electrical wires and wooden finishes. Squirrels can also carry diseases and ticks, and their urine and feces can make humans sick. It is best to stay clear of their droppings and contact A-Team Trappers for an effective squirrel.

At A-Team Trappers, both our customers and wildlife are our priority so we work diligently to remove pest wildlife from your home and to ensure they can return safely to their own habitats. We are available anytime of the day to provide humane trapping services to catch and relocate squirrels. Once removed, we provide exclusion services to seal all entry points so squirrels can’t get back in. If necessary, we clean and sanitize any damaged or infected areas. We also like to educate customers on ways to prevent wildlife from coming back because prevention is critical to stopping a small problem from becoming a bigger problem.

POSSUMS

Opossums are the only existing marsupial found in North America. Often found near streams and swamps these animals are opportunistic creatures so in urban areas we are finding them most commonly in attics, crawl spaces, and inactive armadillo burrows. They can be found in groups but most often they are solitary animals and use our attics, chimneys, and wall voids for shelter, in addition to birthing and protecting their babies. Opossums weigh between 814 pounds, and will sound like something even larger when heard through your ceiling.

The damage an opossum can cause is much like a raccoon’s, but instead of gaining entry using their paws they will be more likely to push their head and body through any unsecured area they find such as soffits, roof returns, and even attic vents. Opossums can not carry rabies, and are even immune to snake venom due to their low blood temperature. They will most likely have fleas and ticks. Opossums carry the same health risk as raccoons in their urine and feces (including toxoplasmosis, leptospirosis, tuberculosis etc.).

The problems caused by opossums will continue on so if you are currently having an issue with them in your yard, attic, or crawl space call A-Team Trappers of St. Petersburg today and we will be glad to do a free inspection, remove, prevent and treat your property to ensure your families & pets safety and well-being.

Bats

When bats enter your residence there can be serious dangers to you and your home. Bats are nearly blind, social creatures that use bio sonar and echo location to navigate at night in clusters, with colonies that can grow into the thousands. These vampire like creatures eat their body weight in mosquitos on a daily basis and play a vital role in our ecosystem, therefore they are protected from removal in Florida from about 4 months out of the year.

Bats are typically only about 2” in length, with mouths the size of a pencil eraser, yet they are one of the leading carriers of rabies. Due to their social nature, it’s extremely uncommon to ever see one on its own unless it is sick or hurt. These creatures can find entry points in the smallest areas of soffits, roof lines, or vents by pushing their tiny bodies into spaces the size of a dime. If dealing with a bat issue you could be hearing a tiny high pitch squeaking noise, and possibly the smell an ammonia type odor. This odor is from the bats feces (guano) which, when crystallized, can cause extensive damage to the structure of your home through the rot of trusses, walls, and even the roof. Guano can bring serious health risks such as histoplasmosis, which is a severe respiratory disease. The spores from the fungus that grows on guano will become airborne and with each breath taken more of these spores can be ingested. So don’t delay call A-Team Trapper’s today for your free comprehensive inspection.

Snakes

Snakes in Florida can range in size and color, with about 50 different species in total. Of these, 6 are venomous and 44 non venomous. Native snakes that are poisonous in Tampa Bay area include the diamondback rattlesnake, pygmy rattlesnake, coral snake, water moccasin (cottonmouth), timber rattlesnake, and the southern Copperhead (being native to Florida, but found mostly in the Northern part of the state). Bites from these snakes can be fatal, and should be avoided always. The good news is that most snakes you will likely encounter in St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area are non venomous.

ST. PETERSBURG AND TAMPA BAY SNAKE REMOVAL

All snakes pose dangers that you might not be aware of. Like many of the other varieties of animals and reptiles we encounter, snakes also host a large number of parasites such as protozoa, tapeworms, and roundworms, which in turn can put humans, dogs, and cats at risk. The majority of these are transmitted through snakes feces or “scat”, and can cause respiratory, digestive, and lung issues. Snakes can also carry salmonella on their skin, causing diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and chills. In any case if you are not a trained professional DO NOT TOUCH OR HANDLE any wild snake. If you find a snake on your porch, in your office building or next to your RV, call A-Team Trappers!

We pride ourselves on our problem solving techniques and are fully equipped with snake cameras to help us investigate areas that would otherwise be impossible (such as under cabinets, down wall voids, or even up an AC chase). When inside a St. Petersburg home or business all bets are off so make a phone call to a professional right away. For external trapping we incorporate wildlife experience and snake behavior patterns to remove any and all snakes possible on our first visit. Due to the surroundings being a factor we will most likely need to set our custom designed snake traps and lures around the property. This process could take up to a week, depending on the snake activity and the size of the property. We also apply natural & pet safe deterrents around the home once we are sure the activity is gone. We take every safety measure possible to keep you and your family out of harm’s way.

Armadillos

The 9 Banded Armadillo has a prehistoric look, is nearly blind and works off of scent and touch to navigate and maneuver over obstacles that are in the way. Armadillos are nocturnal. They are a cosmetic nightmare for any well-manicured yard as they dig little holes and divots looking for grubs and worms. They tend to follow pheromone trails left behind by other armadillos and are known for digging large burrows in a very short amount of time. The burrow opening will be about the size of a basketball and can be 15’ deep by 20’ wide. Most commonly these burrows are found right next to your house, under concrete slabs or in dense bushes. You will usually find 4 to 6 armadillos per burrow, but we have removed as many as 12. These animals can cause serious foundation issues. There are a few other risks associated with armadillos. Leprosy is only known to exist in humans and Armadillos. It can be transmitted by touch, being absorbed through the skin. Not just animal to human, but the soil and sod of the surrounding area can also be infected. Armadillos are often found in rural areas of Pinellas County and St. Petersburg
